Important dates and events in the Region
Unfortunately the important dates for the region - for festivals, bodegas, brocantes, rallies and so on - are not usually finalised in time to be available when arranging the following years holiday. I will add them here as soon as I find them out.
I recommend that you 'bookmark' this page and then return close to the time of your visit to get the most up to date information.

Calendar of Events
Bodegas. Most towns have an annual bodega, or street festival, where the whole town is given over to music, dance, eating and drinking. These are great fun!
Bastille day, July 14th. There are lots of fireworks displays to celebrate Bastille Day. The display at Bergerac is very well regarded.
Bonaguil fireworks and music event. Second half of July. Once a year the space below the castle becomes an arena for watching a huge display of lights, music and fireworks coming from the castle. Spectacular.
Evening food markets: One of the most popular summer events is the evening food markets, where everyone chooses food from stalls and then eats it at large communal tables. Usually in a town centre, and held once a week in many towns, these can go on late into the night with music and dancing.
